If you were on Interstate 40 in Mebane North Carolina on March 13, 2016, you are fully aware of the storms which popped up.

It was around 80 degrees out and suddenly violent winds and heavy rain and hail pounded the Mebane area for 15 minutes. Along with this weather was loud thunder which accompanied several lightning strikes.

Unfortunately there were 130 vehicles involved in accidents during this storm. Drivers were obviously following too closely and not compensating for the weather conditions which nearly everyone knew was coming well in advance.
